If you are a senior engineer who’s tired of optimizing ad engagement and wants to build tools that outlive careers — this is for you. If you are a content writer with rigorous standards and a lived connection to the Quran — this is for you.

If, on the other hand, you’re evaluating us primarily on salary benchmarking, equity upside, or proximity to VC networks, you will likely be disappointed. We optimize for team stability over growth velocity, and we compensate fairly but not exceptionally.

How our hiring process works

  1. Written application — role-specific questions. We read every one. Expect 300-word answers, not one-liners.
  2. 30-minute async conversation — recorded video responses to 3 questions we send you. No scheduling friction.
  3. Paid work trial — a small real project over 5–10 hours, paid at our standard rate. This replaces whiteboard interviews entirely.
  4. Two conversations — one with the hiring manager, one with a peer you’d work with.
  5. Decision within 14 days of trial submission.

We do not do leetcode, take-home tests longer than 10 hours, or unpaid work evaluations. We do not ghost; you will hear a decision one way or the other.

What we offer

  • Fully remote, any time zone. Core overlap window 4 hours daily.
  • Competitive salary benchmarked to the 60–75th percentile of your local market (not to SF/NYC).
  • Equity for senior and long-term roles; transparent grant structure.
  • Unlimited PTO with a 20-day floor. The floor matters — data shows “unlimited PTO” alone often reduces actual leave taken.
  • Ramadan flexibility — reduced core hours, no release crunches during the month, extended Eid holidays.
  • Hajj leave — up to 6 weeks of paid leave, once per tenure, for Hajj.
  • Healthcare stipend appropriate to your country.
  • Learning budget of $2,500/year, including classical Islamic studies.
  • Home office stipend of $2,000 at start + $500/year refresh.

Senior Full-Stack Engineer (remote · full-time)

Work across the app (Flutter), the website (WordPress + PHP), and the sync infrastructure (Go). 7+ years of production experience. Apply at contact with the subject line “Senior FS Engineer.”

Content Lead — Arabic/Urdu (remote · full-time)

Own the translation and localization pipeline. Native fluency in Arabic and Urdu; advanced English. Background in Islamic studies preferred. Apply with samples of your translation work.

ML Engineer — on-device models (remote · full-time)

Evolve our recitation verifier and retention score models. Strong background in on-device ML (Core ML, NNAPI, TFLite). Experience with speech audio is required; background in Arabic phonetics is a significant plus. Apply with portfolio.

What we don’t hire for

  • Growth hacking, engagement optimization, virality engineering. We don’t want this in the product.
  • Sales-led partnerships where we’d trade user data for distribution.
  • Any role that requires compromising on our non-negotiable principles.
