TL;DR: Hands-free voice control for common actions — “play Surah Al-Mulk,” “start revision,” “next page,” “repeat this ayah.” Useful when your hands are occupied (cooking, driving, exercise) and you want to continue listening or reviewing.
Supported commands
- “Play [surah name]” — starts audio playback of the named surah.
- “Start revision” — opens today’s scheduled revision from the spaced repetition engine.
- “Next page” / “Previous page” — navigates during reading or revision.
- “Repeat” / “Repeat this ayah” — loops the current verse.
- “Pause” / “Resume” — controls playback.
- “Speed up” / “Slow down” — adjusts playback speed by 0.25×.
- “Bookmark this” — adds a bookmark at the current position.
How to activate
Settings → Voice → enable. The app listens only when the voice icon is tapped or when “Hey HafizPrime” is spoken (wake-word detection runs on-device, never transmitted).
Privacy
Voice commands are processed entirely on-device. No audio is transmitted to any server. The wake-word model is a small on-device neural network (< 5 MB). You can disable it completely in Settings → Voice.
Limitations
- Voice commands don’t work during active verifier sessions (microphone is occupied).
- Surah names must be spoken in Arabic or the anglicized form (e.g., “Al-Baqarah” or “Baqarah”).
