Quick answer: Yes — almost everything works offline once you’ve signed in and downloaded your audio. Only sync with teachers/parents and audio you haven’t cached require a connection.
What works offline
- Memorization and revision sessions.
- The recitation verifier — all processing is on-device.
- Reading any surah that has text cached (all 114 are cached on first launch).
- Audio playback for any downloaded portion.
- The AI Coach, if you’ve enabled offline mode in Settings → AI.
- Tajweed drills and harakat practice.
What requires internet
- First-time account creation and sign-in.
- Syncing progress across devices.
- Syncing with a linked teacher or parent.
- Downloading new audio for surahs or reciters you haven’t cached.
- Software updates.
Tip for traveling
Before a flight or long drive, go to Settings → Audio → Offline downloads and cache a full juz. Enable airplane mode — the app will still work for hours of memorization and revision without any network.
