TL;DR: Create or join private study groups (halaqat) of 2–20 memorizers. Share progress milestones, encourage each other, and optionally assign shared revision goals. No public posting, no social feed — just focused group accountability.
How groups work
- Create a group: give it a name, set the privacy level (invite-only or open to community).
- Invite members: share a join code or link.
- Daily check-in: each member’s streak and today’s progress are visible to the group.
- Group goals: optionally, set a shared target (e.g., “everyone finishes Juz 30 this month”).
- Group chat: a simple text chat for encouragement and coordination. No images, no voice notes — text only.
What’s shared
- Streak status (practicing today: yes/no).
- Milestone announcements (completed a surah, juz, or achievement).
- Optionally, retention score summary (on/off per member).
What’s not shared
- Recitation audio — never.
- Tadabbur reflections — private.
- Detailed retention data per ayah — only the summary if you opt in.
Why groups help
Social accountability is one of the strongest predictors of long-term habit maintenance. A small group of 3–5 memorizers who check in daily outperforms solo practice by a significant margin — not because of competition, but because of not wanting to be the only one who didn’t show up.
In the app
