Quick answer: Settings → Audio → Reciter. You can change anytime, and the app will re-download the audio for your current surah automatically.
Step by step
- Open HafizPrime → Settings → Audio.
- Tap Reciter. You’ll see the list of available qaris.
- Tap a name to preview — the app will play Surah Al-Fatihah in that voice.
- When you’re sure, tap Select. The app downloads the audio for your current memorization surah in the new voice.
Available reciters
HafizPrime includes 8 world-renowned reciters in the free tier:
- Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary — the gold standard for tajweed timing.
- Mishary Rashid Alafasy — modern, clear, beloved worldwide.
- Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais — the voice of Makkah.
- Saad Al-Ghamdi — slow, teaching-friendly pace.
- Abdul Basit Abdus-Samad — classical Egyptian style.
- Saud Al-Shuraim — Makkah co-imam with Al-Sudais.
- Maher Al-Muaiqly — contemporary Madinah imam.
- Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi — classical, deliberate pace.
Which to pick?
For beginners, Al-Husary or Al-Ghamdi are ideal — slow, clear, and rigorous with tajweed. For pace, Al-Afasy and Al-Sudais work well. Switching reciters mid-hifz is fine but can temporarily slow recall — see when (and how) to switch.
